Sindh Police advance to semifinal

KARACHI, Nov 19: Although Sohail Taqi hammered a classic 87 and Nadeem Rao matched him with an elegant knock of 50, Bed & Bath CC crashed out of the Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan cricket festival, going down by six wickets to the Sindh Police in the quarterfinal played on Wednesday.

Sohail hammered eight boundaries and Nadeem five scorching fours and a huge six, as they put on 115 runs for the second wicket.

Despite Sohail and Nadeem’s efforts Bed & Bath CC could manage to reach 194 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 25 overs.

Asad Ashraf Malik was easily the pick of the Police attack, pocketing three wickets for 40 runs.

With Akif Alvi (57) in fine nick with the willow, joined by Kamran Hussain (45), Shujat Ali (31), Rashid Ali (30) and Gohar Ali unbeaten with 22 joining the run chase, Sindh Police were home and dry at 197 runs for the loss of four wickets which came in 21.3 overs.
