KHAR: Security in Bajaur Agency was put on high alert on Wednesday after information that militants would try to carry out terrorist activities at three different places in Khar, local people and sources said. However, the sources didn’t specify the places where militants might strike.

They said tight security measures were witnessed in Khar, the agency headquarters, and its adjoining areas during the whole day.

According to the local people they saw extraordinary measures being taken by the law enforcement agencies in Khar bazaar and other places. Personnel of security forces and Bajaur Levies remained busy patrolling streets and searching people in Khar bazaar and other nearby areas from early morning till evening, they added.

Sources said scores of additional levies personnel were also deployed in different parts of Khar bazaar and its nearby areas while senior officers were asked to supervise the security arrangements.
