HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad on Monday announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Part-I and II (Class XI and XII) annual examinations-2016 for all groups would be held from April 28 to May 13 in 10 districts of Sindh.

Addressing a press briefing held at a hall in the BISE office on Monday, BISE Chairman Prof Dr Mohammad Memon said the board took effective measures to control cheating, copy culture and impersonation during the examinations.

Ten districts which falls within remit of the board are Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Jamshoro, Tando Mohammad Khan, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Thatta and Sujawal.

He said a total of 115 examination centres were set up and 29 of them, including nine of Hyderabad district, were declared sensitive. He said 22 vigilance committees were constituted and one monitoring cell was set up to keep an eye on the centres.

He said the Sindh inspector general of police (IGP) and Hyderabad division commissioner assured the board of their cooperation in terms of security arrangements, imposition of Section 144 Cr.PC, closure of photo state machine shops during the hours of examinations around the centres. He said deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners would also visit the centres in their respective districts.

He appealed to parents and guardians to admonish their children not to use any unfair means during the examinations.

Meanwhile, BISE controller examination Dr Masroor Ahmed Zai said a total of 100,360 candidates, including 64,701 boys and 35,659 girls, would appear in the examinations.

He directed candidates not to carry mobile phone during the examinations. Strict action would be taken against those who were found copying, he warned. FIR would be lodged against impersonators immediately, he added.
