MINGORA: Clerks demand allowance

MINGORA, Nov 17: All Pakis-tan Clerks Association (Apca) President Haji Fazal Mabood Khan has expressed concern over the high prices of daily-use items and asked the government to announce an Eid allowance for government employees keeping in view this market trend.

Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, he said that in the past, magistrates used to check prices of different things in the market and took action against those found violating the rules, but presently no steps were taken in this regard.

He said that in Ramazan shopkeepers were fleecing the people, but the administration did nothing against them.

In the prevailing circumstances, the government employees were unable to go for Eid shopping and the government was morally bound to announce a special allowance for them, he said.

The president said a charter of demands had already been presented to the government.
