PESHAWAR, Nov 17: The All Pakistan Women Association has announced that the association will not provide shelter to those women who are involved in criminal cases.
APWA chairperson Begum Zari Sarfaraz made this announcement at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday.
Clarifying allegations levelled by the relatives of a girl, Muskan, against the APWA’s shelter house (Darul Aman), she said the girl had escaped from her residence and was sent to Darul Aman by a local court. A case had been registered against her for escaping from the Darul Aman at the Hasthnagri police station, she added.
Ms Zari alleged that some former staff members of the APWA and some NGOs had started vilification campaign against the Darul Aman and the APWA members.
According to reports, Muskan, an Afghan girl, had run away from her home. She was arrested by police and court sent her to the Darul Aman. But she again ran away from the Darul Aman.
Muskan’s aunt, in a press conference on Saturday, held the APWA’s administration responsible for her missing niece. She also alleged that the administration did not allow the relatives to meet Muskan.
