LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Finance Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha says that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a consultation committee, under her supervision, to review the pace of progress, lacunae and reforms regarding the ongoing uplift projects and the ministry of industry and trade and the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) had also been given nomination in it.

Presiding over a meeting on Thursday to review the arrangements for visit of World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director General Roberto Azevedo, she said committee would do consultation on the projects with the participation of the WTO in Punjab.

Ms Pasha said the WTO was not only providing a platform to its member countries for consultation regarding sale and purchase of goods and services but also playing an important role for promoting trade, eliminating disputes and reforming trade policy among them. She said formulation of such international trade policies with the assistance of the WTO would be stressed as could help develop local industry.

President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Chairman WTO Jamil Naz, Deputy Secretary Ministry of Commerce Adnan Lodhi and PBIT Director Khuram Afzal Malik and others attended the meeting.
