RAWALPINDI, Nov 16: Activists of the People’s Labour Bureau (women wing) at a ceremony here on Sunday demanded of the government to withdraw what they said false cases against Asif Ali Zardari.

The ceremony was organized by the general secretary of the bureau, Rukhsana Bashir.

Ms Bashir said the government of Gen Musharraf wanted to destroy democracy in the country by harassing and blackmailing political figures, including the leadership of the PPP.

She said it was unfortunate that two former prime ministers had been forced to live in exile.

Despite the failure of the establishment and the National Accountability Bureau to prove Mr Zardari guilty of any crime, he was still languishing in jail, she added.
