ISLAMABAD, Nov 16: The ruling alliance has neither achieved quorum in the National Assembly nor passed a legislation even in the absence of the opposition.

This was said by central vice-president of ARD and PML-N parliamentary leader Tehmina Daultana in a statement on Sunday.

She said after these failures, the government was not justified in criticizing the opposition. She said it was the right of the opposition to thump desks and boycott the parliamentary proceedings.

She said the opposition always tried to make the parliament powerful and vest it with the necessary powers.

Ms Daultana called upon members of the ruling party to see the performance of President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali in the past and also assess the prevailing unrest in the country.
