LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan has accused Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar of “keeping files to blackmail” (corrupt) opponents, instead of getting them ‘nabbed’.

Talking to reporters after a meeting with legislators and leaders of his party, he reiterated that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had concealed his assets, which was a crime under the law of the land.

All PML-N leaders were busy in defending their leader’s corruption, Mr Khan added.

Reacting to PML-N leaders’ warning about their plan to stage a demonstration (outside Mr Khan’s residence) in Bani Gala and a similar rally of the party supporters outside the residence of his ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith in London, the PTI chief asked them what they would demand (during their protests).

“I will be demanding transparent and independent investigations into the Panama papers during our party’s sit-in in Raiwind,” he added.

He asked how Nawaz Sharif’s sons had become billionaires, when they had no business or earnings in 1993.

Responding to corruption allegations, he said that the PML-N government could send its auditors to check financial record of the Shaukat Khanum Hospital. “I am making this offer because I am not guilty.”

Mr Khan said that the PTI would stage a ‘massive event’ in Islamabad to commemorate its foundation day on April 24, in which an announcement would be made about the future strategy of the party.

All political parties and their workers would be invited to participate in Raiwind protest, which would not end without the resignation by the prime minister,” he said.
