KARACHI, Nov 15 : A fine spell of leg-spin bowling by 15-year-old Imran Bashir, helped KGA Gymkhana reach the quarterfinals of the Ramazan Super Cup, after beating Synergy CC by four wickedts at the Student’s Sports ground on Saturday.

Winning the toss and batting first, Synergy got off to a fine start when their openers put on 53 runs for the first wicket in only five overs. But with the introduction of Imran, the game took and absolute turn and Synergy lost their last 10 wickets for the addition of 66 runs and were bowled out for 119 runs in 23.3 overs.

Anwar Ali top scored for his side with 36 runs. Imran had a splendid spell of spin bowling, grabbing five wickets for only seven runs in 4.5 overs. He was aly supported by Mario Rodrigues three for 22 and Freddy Decruze two for 23.

Chasing 120 runs for victory, KGA reached 120 for the loss of six wickets in 214 overs. Sham Ramesh led the way with an attractive knock of 41 runs with Hilary Rodrigues scoring (23).

Raza Iqbal two for 25 and Khaliq ullah two for 3, were among the wickets for losers.
