I AM a resident of Soldier Bazaar area and was sent a K-Electric bill in February, showing extra charges embedded in it. When I inquired about the reason, I was told that these were the charges for illegal use of electricity. I informed the KE that I had never opted for any illegal use of electricity.
Later, a KE team visited my flat and confirmed that there was no presence of any such thing. I was relaxed that all allegations had been cleared now. But it was surprising that when I received the electricity bill next month, the same charges were present in it.
I visited the KE office again and asked the officials about the reason but they had none. It was most surprising that when I asked for the proof for the allegation levelled against me, the KE people said they had none and that it was done by the central office and I would have to visit them for that.
Why are private/commercial organisations tasked with providing service to citizens harassing them?
