An official said that a police party had raided a hideout near Gadha Gari Stand on Hawkes Bay Road on reports about the presence of some gangsters. An exchange of gunfire took place during the raid.

“Armed men in the hideout attacked personnel of our team when they were busy taking positions following a tip-off about the presence of some criminals in the area,” said SSP city Fida Hussain Janwari.

“More force was called in to join the operation and during an exchange of gunfire two gangsters were killed. They all belonged to a criminal gang of Baba Ladla group mainly operating in Lyari.”
