QUETTA: Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri says that development of the country depends on the development of Balochistan because it has abundant natural resources.

Addressing a seminar held by the provincial information department, Mr Zehri said the plan for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor had been possible because of Gwadar’s long-stretched coastal belt.

However, he regretted that the province was being denied coverage in the mainstream media, more so, electronic channels.

Balochistan deserved media coverage for being the biggest province area-wise, he said, adding that the entire country would benefit once the Gwadar Port was developed.

China was investing $46 billion because of the geopolitical importance of Gwadar, he stated while expressing disappointment over the media giving very little coverage even to incidents of bomb blasts while focusing on least important issues round-the-clock. “It will not leave a good message if people of Balochistan boycott the news channels,” he remarked.
