QUETTA: Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah has praised polio vaccination teams for their efforts to eradicate the crippling virus from Balochistan.

In a letter to the provincial coordinator at the Emergency Operation Centre, he said: “The remarkable improvement in campaign quality, dedication and resilience shown by teams in the aftermath of the tragic incident of Jan 13 is commendable. With the dedication and commitment of polio teams, we will be successful in making Balochistan polio-free by the end of 2016.”

A bomb explosion near a polio vaccination centre in Quetta had left 14 people dead on Jan 13. The federal government had also acknowledged efforts of the teams in Balochistan, the letter added.
