KARACHI: Two cars were found floating in the surf at Karachi's Sea View beach on Tuesday after two drivers, allegedly racing, drove their vehicles into the sea.

There were no casualties reported in the incident.

The two drivers, in an attempt to overtake each other, drove the vehicles into the sea early on Tuesday, according to eyewitnesses.

The witnesses added that the occupants of the vehicles fled from the scene after the cars got stuck in deep water.

Although the number of passengers in the cars could not be ascertained, rescue services were called in as a precaution.

The cars were found empty after rescue teams reached the spot.

Heavy machinery was called in to extract the cars.
