SUKKUR: Police on Sunday registered an FIR against 27 suspects in the wake of exchange of fire between ‘criminals’ and police during action in a Ghotki locality for the recovery of Fazila Sarki who was kidnapped nine years ago in Garhi Hassan Sarki village near Thull, Jacobabad district.

Lakhi Ghulam Shah SHO Mumtaz Marwat was complainant in the case which was lodged at A-Section police station in Ghotki.

Shikarpur took action in Aftab Colony in Ghotki on Saturday over a tip-off about the girl’s presence in a house belonging to sons of notorious dacoit Musa Lolai. Two suspects and a passerby boy were killed in the ensuing police action, according to police.

Police had taken into custody two girls and two women from the Lolai’s house but released them after ascertaining none of the girls was the hostage, Fazila.

Meanwhile, a large number of members of Lolai community held a sit-in on the National Highway and the father of the boy who was killed in the crossfire protested against police. However, police persuaded them to end the protest and assured them of justice.
