MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani says the security of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the responsibility of the administration particularly the provincial government where he is visiting.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said: “Bilawal is going to launch his public campaign from southern Punjab that will further continue across the country.”

Gilani said the campaign would be started from Rahim Yar Khan where Bilawal would address a public gathering while he would also address a public meeting in Multan.

He said over 65 percent of population of the country consisted of youth and “Bilawal is the actual representative of the youth.”“The politics of PPP is based on issues and we prefer to highlight public issues instead of indulging in personal matters,” he said.

Terming the recovery of Shahbaz Taseer a good omen, he refused to comment on the release of his kidnapped son Ali Haider Gilani.

He said the people of Rahim Yar Khan voted for PPP in local elections and the government should respect the mandate and avoid taking any step against wishes of the people.
