NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has ordered its legal counsel to move court against three news channels who allegedly doctored the tapes of the Feb 9 incident at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) where alleged anti-national slogans were raised, reports said on Monday.

They said the move by the Arvind Kejriwal government came after a magistrate report on the controversial JNU event said that no ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised and words inciting violence were doctored.

According to sources, the two doctored videos are of Feb 9 and Feb 11. The reports said a TV reporter was called to the JNU event by the BJP youth wing ABVP.

The Kejriwal led-government had ordered a magisterial inquiry into the alleged raising of anti-national slogans on the university campus on Feb 9.

The Feb 9 register entry of the JNU has been put as part of the report.

The sources said that the TV channel didn’t submit videos to magistrate despite being asked to.

Earlier, a video came into public domain which showed some people raising anti-India slogans at the event.

In the video, the youngsters, whose faces were covered, could be seen raising slogans against India.

Several videos of the event have surfaced since the row broke out leading to the arrest of the JNU Students’ Union president on charges of sedition, triggering widespread protests.

JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar and five other students have been charged with sedition for allegedly organising the event glorifying parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and shouting anti-India slogans.
