LAHORE, Nov 9: Five goals by Usman Haye helped Peek Freans win the Seasons Canola polo tournament, defeating Diamond Paints 8-5 in the final at LPC Ground on Sunday.

Diamond Paints made a fine start and finished the first chukker with 2-1 lead.

Maula Baksh, who scored four goals in the match, struck his first while Mir Shoaib added the second goal of his team. Usman scored the solitary goal for Peek. All goals were scored on field attempts.

In the second chukker in which six goals were scored, Peek came out with a slim 5-4 lead by adding four goals. Usman scored a hat trick while Agha Bilal, who scored three goals, added a goal.

For Diamond, Maula Baksh struck two goals.

Peek surged ahead 7-4 by slamming two more goals in the third chukker with Usman and Agha striking a goal each.

Peek maintaining their pressure scored a goal through Agha in the fourth chukker to increase the lead 8-4. But Maula Baksh struck his fourth and last goal of the match only to lose the final 8-5.

Four goals by Ahmad Ali Tiwana, including a hat trick, helped Agri Mall Oranges to earn third position, beating Agri Mall Blues 8 1/2-4.

Jawad Malik (2), Irfan Sheikh (1) and Zain Khakwani (1) were the other scorers for the winning side. Half goal was the handicap.

For the Blues team, Tanvir Tariq (2),Capt. Nasir Piracha (1), Zain and Farid Noon (1) reduced the margin.
