LARKANA, Dec 28: Larkana police have arrested four bandits including an accused of killing five villagers on Friday.

The arrested bandits were identified as Ghulam Shabbir alias Pathan Narejo, Banda Ali Mugheri, Ali Hassan Narejo and Haji Khan Chandio.

SSP Larkana Ghulam Nabi Memon told Dawn that Ghulam Shabbir was involved in killing five villagers— Iqbal alias Bano, Anwer, Abdul Jabbar, Sajjan and Mohammed Siddik, all of Mirani caste— on Oct 29 in the jurisdiction of Hatir Ghulam Shah police station.

The relatives of the deceased have identified him in the parade, the SSP said adding that he was also wanted in four other cases of highway robbery, kidnapping for ransom and police encounter, registered with Khairpur, Larkana and Gambat police stations.

A Kalashnikov was recovered from the possession of Ghulam Shabbir. The police official hoped that his arrest would lead the police to lay hands on the rest of the accused nominated in the FIR.
