KARACHI: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved 12 schemes worth Rs4.27 billion in various sectors, including agriculture, health, irrigation, culture, and planning and development.

The schemes, approved in the fifth PDWP meeting of this fiscal year, included first phase of nutrition sensitive agriculture project worth 575 million, the upgradation of existing rural health centre to taluka headquarter hospital at Garhi Khairo district Jacobabad worth Rs200m, additional works of Cadet College Ghotki worth Rs762.96m, construction of N.A. Baloch Institute worth Rs129.408m and a scheme for urban strategic planning and policymaking worth Rs1.39bn, among others.

The meeting, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary for Development Ajaz Ali Khan, also decided that all development schemes must include plantation of trees to address the issue of climate change, the Sindh Planning and Development Department said in a statement.
