SUKKUR, Dec 28: The acting Nazim, Sukkur, Iqbal Dawood Pakwala, the other day conducted raids on the offices of the Director of Education and found that the majority of the officials were absent from their duties.

He expressed concern over the attitude of the officials of the education department.

He said that they were nowadays busy in protesting against the secretary, Education, and the EDO, Sukkur.

He paid a surprise visit to the office of the district education officer, Jiand Maher, and found all four deputy education officers (females) and other lower staff to be absent from duty.

In another surprise visit to the office of the Director of Education College, he found the majority of staff to be absent from duty.

He directed the EDO, Sukkur, Mrs Rafia Naz, to issue showcause notices against all officials who were absent from their duties.

THREE COPS SUSPENDED: The SSP, Sukkur, Din M. Baloch, the other day suspended three police officials on the charge of misusing their powers.

Those who have been suspended are ASI Mumtaz Junejo, constables Abdullah and Arshad.

The three policemen entered the house of one Tassawur Pathan and threw out his household goods and had his house vacated forcefully.

They handed over his house to complainants, Umer Maher and Deedar Maher.

Later, the Pathan community took out a protest rally and held a sit-in in front of the SSP office, Sukkur.

The SSP heard their grievances and had the house handed back to Tassawur Pathan.

He immediately suspended all three police officials who were misusing their power.

WATER ROTATION: The executive engineer, Mirpur Division Ghotki, has announced rotation programme of various channels for Mirpur Sub-Division.

Irrigation channels of Mirpur Sub-Division including Mahi Wah, Bori Lower, Dub-1, Chhatto Minor, Longho Minor, Tig Minor, Saeed Pur Minor, Kalwali Minor, Bakro Minor, Kander Branch, Kandi Minor and Gaji Minor will start on Jan 1, and close on Jan 11, respectively.
