Karachi situation

Published February 10, 2016

ALTHOUGH the situation in Karachi has improved in terms of safety and security in the past few months, it still carries the image of a city where one’s life is at risk. The common perception about Karachi is that it is still a war-torn city.

This perception needs to be changed which can best be done by adopting a multi-pronged strategy. We need to ensure that all the bad apples are swept away and grand events are held to promote the magnificence and grandeur of the city.

Karachi was once a great city which every Pakistani was keen to visit and where many wished to reside. Its bazaars attracted people from all over and its society highlighted the culture of Pakistan. It is important that this exuberance should return to Karachi. I urge every citizen of Pakistan to help make Karachi great again.
