KARACHI: MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar assured the protesting employees of the Pakistan International Airlines on Sunday of his party’s support and asked the government to accept their legitimate demands forthwith.

According to a press release issued by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Dr Sattar reached the venue of employees’ sit-in near the PIA head office to express solidarity with them.

Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the government to play its role in tracing and recovering four ‘missing’ employees of the PIA.

He said that only the employees would decide the fate of their institution. “The government doesn’t know the difference between privatisation and destruction. We will not let them destroy the PIA.”

MQM’s mayoral nominee Waseem Akhtar and MNAs Asif Hasnain, Ali Raza Abidi and Sajid Ahmed accompanied Dr Sattar.
