HYDERABAD: Nazim issued notice

Published November 5, 2003

HYDERABAD, Nov 4: The district council convener, Nawab Rashid Ali Khan, has issued a notice to union council-4 Nazim Jiyando Soomro, asking him to explain why his case should not be referred to the government for his disqualification.

It was learnt that the notice was issued after Mr Soomro had smashed windowpanes of a door of the district council officer’s room during the proceedings of a meeting of the district education committee.

The meeting was held to elect the committee chairman and it elected Syed Ali Mohammad Shah as the chairman of the committee. Mr Soomro was also interested in contesting the election and he accused Mr Shah of preventing a woman councillor from proposing his name.
