KOHAT: Four militants sentenced to death by military courts earlier this year on multiple charges of terrorism were hanged at the Kohat district prison on Tuesday amid tight security in and around the jail.

They were identified as Noor Saeed of Kurram Agency, Murad Khan of Lakki Marwat, Inayatullah Khan of Waziristan and Israruddin of Swat.

Announcing their conviction by the military courts, the ISPR had on April 2 claimed that they were involved in heinous offences such as terrorism, manslaughter, suicide bombings, abduction for ransom and colossal damage to life and property. On Dec 8, the ISPR said the army chief had signed their death warrants.

On Dec 2, four other convicts were hanged in the same prison. They were convicted by military courts of different charges, including abetment and facilitation in the Army Public School carnage. So far eight militants convicted by the military courts have been hanged, all of them in Kohat.
