Tribute to Aali

Published December 25, 2015

JEEWAY Jeeway Pakistan song is one of the few good things to have happened to Pakistan ever since its inception and we have lost its lyricist Jamiluddin Aali.

Shehnaz Begum sang this song on TV and got a breakthrough in her singing career.

We have lost Aali, but we will remember him for as long as Pakistan lives and as long as our children sing this song.

Whilst paying tributes to Aali your readers might be curious to know what other good things have happened in Pakistan. Let me count them on my fingertips — Thal canal, Mangla dam, Guddu Barrage, Pak Sar Zamein Shad, ‘Shahabnama’, Dr A.Q. Khan and Chaudhry Mohammad Ali.
