Published November 2, 2003

RAWALPINDI, Nov 1: As many as 100 profiteers were arrested from Sadiqabad, New Town and Pirwadhai during the fourth day of a grand operation against profiteering and hoarding on Saturday.

This was stated by district Nazim Raja Tariq Kiani while supervising the raids on shopkeepers. He vowed that the campaign against profiteers would continue.

Mr Kiani said the district government would not be cowed down by the threats of resistance on part of traders. He said the profiteers and their supporters would be dealt with strongly. He made it clear that no hurdle would be tolerated in providing relief to the poor masses.—Our Reporter
