KARACHI, Oct 31: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammed Mahar has directed that English Literature Training Centres should be established in Sindh.

The chief minister was talking to the chairman of Sindh Public Service Commission Mohammad Hasan Bhutto.

He said that such centres should start three-month course to improve reading, comprehension, listening and speaking skills of students.

To start with, he said, these centres should be established at district headquarters and tehsil headquarters of Sindh. Later, the service could be extended to town level, he added. He said that such centres could train 1,600 to 1,800 graduates annually.

Observing that a large number of eligible graduates in Sindh are unable to find jobs, the chief minister proposed the SPSC chairman to open a guidance and counselling centre in Hyderabad for prospective candidates.

He said that the director guidance should also hold sessions for career guidance in Karachi and Sukkur regional offices and visit district headquarters for similar purpose regularly.

He directed the SPSC to develop data base of meritorious students and share the same with private sector to provide them job opportunities.

SPSC chairman Mohammed Hasan Bhutto assured the chief minister that his directives would be implemented in letter and spirit.—APP
