LAHORE: The PPP has asked the federal government not to threaten the Sindh government over the issue of giving extension to the Rangers’ stay in Karachi.

“The federal government’s threatening tone is not acceptable. It should better resolve the matter with the Sindh government in a constitutional way instead of hurling threats to the provincial government,” former Punjab governor and PPP’s South Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood said.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said the PML-N talked about corruption in Sindh. “There is a corruption in Punjab why no such operation is carried out here,” he asked and warned the federal government of taking any unconstitutional step in this regard as it might lead to dangerous consequences.

Flanked by Shaukat Basra, Riaz Bashir and Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Mr Mahmood said the federal government instead of selling the PIA should better manage its affair as it would be a no solution to the problem.

“The state of the PTCL and other institutions which were privatised in the past is before everyone,” he added.
