HYDERABAD: The two-day painting and photography exhibition held at the Sindh Museum organised by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) concluded on Monday. People, especially students, visited the show.

The exhibition was organised by the Sindh Community Foundation (SCF) in collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC). Artists, social activists, mostly young students from different educational institutes, and individuals displayed their artworks at the event.

Young artists who explained their works on the theme of peace to visitors included Nadeem Gohar, Agha Mubasher, Falak Naz, Maryam Urooj, Abdullah Hussain, Rabia Sehar, Armaan, Ghulam Murtaza, Shahriar, Amir Ali and Vinesa.

Arman Ajay got the first prize for photography and Rabia Sehar in poster designing while Abdullah Hussain for the best painting.

Among visitors were Saeed Mangi of Sindhology, Naimatullah Khilji of the Institute of Art & Design, Sindh University, Jamshoro, NGOs representatives Suleman Abro, Punhal Sario, Zulfiqar Halepoto, Mahesh Kumar, Jaffar Memon and others. They appreciated the efforts for the promotion of peace and harmony.

SCF’s Javed Hussain said art could play an important role in promoting peace. Sindh had a lot of Sufi saints who advocated peace and harmony and their messages were still relevant today, he said. Such personalities could be found in all provinces, he added.
