HYDERABAD, Oct 28: A function was held at the Institute of Sindhology, University of Sindh, on Tuesday to observe the first death anniversary of noted writer and archaeologist Taj Sehrai.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui said a corner would be established at the Institute of Sindhology in memory of the late writer. He said his works, books and collections would be preserved at the institute.

Paying tribute to him for his services in the cause of literature and education, he said Taj Sehrai was a good teacher and a lover of archaeology.

Scholar and educationist Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the efforts of the late Sehrai in promoting archaeology.

He highlighted his contribution to the field of literature and culture.

Mujeeb Sehrai and Prof Nizam Sehrai, both the sons of the late scholar, expressed their gratitude to the institute for organizing the anniversary of their father.

They announced that personnel library and archaeological material of their father would be donated to the institute to preserve it for research scholars.

ENTRY TEST: The director, admissions, University of Sindh, on Tuesday announced that entry test for admission to bachelor’s classes would be held on Nov 2 at the Dr Nabi Bux Baloch Sindh University Model School, Hyderabad.

Admit cards to candidates will be issued from Oct 29 to Nov 1.

The director, admissions, also announced that the aptitude test for admission to BA fine arts would be held on Nov 3 at the department of fine arts.
