Loans for doctors

LAHORE, Oct 26: The Punjab Health Foundation (PHF) has decided to offer Rs400,000 loan facility to each medical graduate, having at least one-year house job, to set up clinic.

The doctors who are working at clinics or hospitals or passed their MBBS or BDS more than six years ago at the time of filing applications will not be eligible to apply.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the PHF, presided over by Punjab Minister for Health Dr Tahir Ali Javed here on Sunday.

The meeting was informed that the foundation had approved to extend loan facility up to Rs1.2 million under regular package to doctors for setting up clinics or acquiring equipment in the field relevant to their training and experience. The maximum age limit is 45 years. —Reporter
