KARACHI, Oct 25: Former Test left-arm spinner Iqbal Qasim has been appointed chairman of Technical Committee (TC) of Asian Under-19 Cup tournament which goes into action at Lahore and Karachi from Oct 31.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is holding the event on behalf of Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and host Pakistan are taking part in the event.

Former international Abdul Raquib and Zakir Khan are members of the Technical Committee. Zakir Khan is Director of the tournament.

Panel of umpires included Mian Aslam (Pakistan), Nadir Shah (Bangladesh), Gamini Silva (Sri Lanka) and S.K. Sharma (India). Zameer Haider and Afzal Ahmed Rizvi will be reserved as umpires for Karachi and Lahore.

Tasleem Arif and Sultan Rana will be Match Referees for Lahore and Karachi.—APP
