PESHAWAR, Oct 24: The staff of City Government Higher Secondary School No 3, where a group of employees were involved in abuse of students, has been transferred.

The step was taken after a sub-committee of the NWFP Assembly submitted to the government a preliminary report about the shameful practice going on in school for the last two decades.

Through different notifications issued by the executive district officer of Literacy and Schools Department, the entire staff comprising 35 employees was transferred. The EDO also visited the school on Thursday.

Principal Ubaidullah, who had initiated action to stop the practice for the first time, has also been transferred and told to report to the directorate of education. The principal had placed a ban on the presence of suspects on the school premises after school timings.

The department has already suspended services of four alleged gangsters identified as Abdul Qayyum, a teacher; watchman Baseer Khan, and junior clerks Shahnawaz and Humayun.

The government has been considering lodging an FIR against the employees involved, including some teachers.

The four member sub-committee headed by Habibur Rehman had conducted an inquiry during which it interrogated students, teachers, peons and watchmen.
