LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam finds fault with the PML-N candidate that led to defeat of the party in by-polls for a provincial assembly seat from Lahore on Oct 11.
N League’s Mohsin Lateef, a maternal cousin of Maryam, has lost to PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui by a thin margin of a couple of thousands of votes.
“We lost the provincial seat because our candidate had failed to deliver,” she tweeted on Monday evening. But she would not say why Mr Lateef had been granted ticket despite Hamza’s objections, because of the candidate’s poor performance and unpopularity even among PML-N activists.
She would, however, say “PM has made it clear to all, either deliver or go home. Ppl come first.”
In her another tweet, Maryam taunted the PTI leadership for not wholeheartedly accepting defeat in the NA-122 ballot.
“Some people simply don’t have the courage & grace to concede defeat,” she said, advising the PTI leadership: “Don’t embarrass yourself further and let Pakistan prosper.”

There is a saying: something like be a gracious winner and loser. Don't denigrate your own candidate, and don't think you are in any way responsible for the happenings. Remember the anniversary that is just being observed. Don't tempt it!

Hahaahh, it is funny, they didn't know before the election that the candidate is at fault. If this is the case, then be ready, your whole party would go home in next election as your government has failed to deliver.

Accepting why you lost is the reason why people are able to win another day. No reason PMLn is currently the country's largest and strongest party as they recognize their short comings and try to improve upon it. While Imran Khans ego and arrogance stops him from realizing the faults within and instead he blames rigging which is why he keeps losing.

Indeed Pakistani is a country of family politics. PML-N and PPP both are dynastic partieis who have placed their relatives in all important positions.
Ishaq Dar's family is married into sharif family, similarly cousins and relatives of sharif family and their associates are candidates for provincial assembly and national assembly position.
Just like the historic city of Nawabshah has been renamed Shaheed Benazirabad the day will come when Pakistan will be named Nawazsharifistan or something.
The government and Pakistan studies projects all these corrupt leaders as saints.

@Azam Jamil Mohsin was the first choice of ticket becoz he was elected MPA from this constituency in 2013 GE & de seated due to tribunal decision.

You sousin was contesting the electins because your family believes they own Pakistan. Isn't it the same reason you were sitting on a 100s of millions of dollars fund?. What expertise did you bring to the fund and why were you then removed?. I am sorry I don't want to be rude but your family has done absolutely nothing for Pakistan. PMLN should be restricted to running Punjab and that too with reservations about the sincerity of your family. You should all go back to running your family businesses. all I know is that in the heart of Lahore, the so called "lion's Den", almost half of the people that voted, do not want PML N to represent them anymore.
This is supposed to be Noon's own backyard. And for someone to come and bag half of your votes should be an eye opener.
