QUETTA: A three-day polio eradication campaign will start in Quetta on Saturday, officials of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) said on Friday.

The campaign in Quetta will start on Saturday and two later will be followed in the districts of Killa Abdullah, Pishin, Killa Saifullah, Khuzdar, Loralai, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Dera Bugti, Lasbela, Sherani and Zhob.

“At least 375,906 children will be administered anti-polio drops in Quetta and 927 teams will be working during the drive.Around 27,998 children of Afghan refugees will also be administered the drops,” an Emer-gency Operation Centre spokesperson said.

He said the campaign estimated to vaccinate over 1.36 million children in all the 12 districts.

“As many as 3,320 mobile teams and 357 fixed ones will be working,” he said, adding that another 173 teams would be deputed at Transit Points to vaccinate children.
