LAHORE: Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said on Tuesday the voters of Lahore would only stamp on lion on Oct 11 as the PML-N doesn’t bother whether votes are shifted to the Election Commission office by armoured vehicles or F-16 planes.

“Imran Khan has come to Lahore only to spoil by-elections in NA-122 as he neither wanted to contest election in the past nor does he want to do it now,” the minister said while talking to reporters at the Pakistan Carpet Exhibition at a local hotel.

The minister said Mr Khan wanted to see the election of ballot paper as wrestling but he not only faced defeat in previous elections but would also see each vote coming out of ballot box with stamp on lion. He asked the PTI chief to ask for vote on the basis of performance by comparing Lahore with Peshawar.

Rasheed said the people of Lahore would not cast votes for those who abused public-oriented Metro Bus project and hugged ‘Pajero Wale’.

He said the PML-N had not stepped into the election with full zeal as Chaudhry Nisar, Khwaja Asif and Ishaq Dar did not turn up for electioneering but on the other hand the PTI had gathered all leaders from Gwadar to Torkham at Doongi Ground.
