ISLAMABAD: Burglars and thieves struck at five places in the city and made off with cash and valuables worth millions of rupees, the police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, burglars took away gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs800,000 from the house of Amjad Zafar located in E-11/1.

Mr Zafar told the police that he had gone out of the city along with his family to celebrate Eidul Azha and upon return found the valuables missing.

Similarly, Ghulam Qasim’s house in G-10/3 was also burgled during the Eid holidays and cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth R730,000 were stolen.

Valuables and gold ornaments worth Rs250,000 were also found missing from the house of Munawar Zaman located in Shahzad Town.

In another incident, cash and valuables worth Rs120,000 were stolen from the house of Naleem Khan at G-11/4.
