CHARSADDA: Alleged family dispute claimed the life of deputy superintendent of Central Jail, Peshawar, Zahir Shah and his brother Irshad here on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place in Hari Chund and the FIR has been registered. An official of the Mandani police station said that Shamshad, brother of Zahir Shah, had nominated Sohrab, Norab, Shaheen, Perveen, Shabana and their father Rustam Shah in the FIR.

According to the FIR, Rustam came in a car along with his sons and daughters to the hujra of Zahir Shah and opened fire on them. Zahir Shah and his brother Irshad received bullet injuries and both died on the spot, while Shamshad who was also present there remained unhurt.

The police said that no arrest had been made so far. They said that Zahir Shah had a family dispute with Rustam and a case had been pending before a family court in Peshawar.
