Badaber attack: Five Pakistani 'terrorists' identified

PESHAWAR: Five men suspected of involvement in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) camp attack in Peshawar's Badaber area on Friday have been identified.

At least 42 people, including 14 terrorists, were killed as the PAF camp at Inqalab road had come under attack by Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan militants early Friday.

The 'terrorists' whose information has been released include:

Rab Nawaz

Rab Nawaz, son of Sher Dast Khan, is a resident of Swat born on Jan 16, 1995.

The Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology on Saturday collected specimens from the bodies of 14 terrorists who were killed by security forces during the attack, Dawn newspaper reported.

The specimens were to be dispatched to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency in Lahore to determine the identities of the attackers.

The Counter-Terrorism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unknown suspects on terror charges in relation to Friday's deadly attack on the PAF camp in Badaber.

I request the Government of Pakistan to urgently look for job generation schemes. Government can also support the youths for self employment. Its lack of jobs which is driving these young souls into terrorism,. When young people starts earning they won't pay any heed to the radical views of the Mullahs. Feeling very sad to see such young people getting into terrorism just due to poor economic health of Pakistan.

Demolish their family homes, prison their parents or children and confiscate their property and remove their Pakistani status as citizenship. The authorities should deploy more & more plain cloth agents to nab these type of characters. Strict vigilance is required. There is always a good reason for young men to join a party who is destroying Pakistani establishment. Provincial as well as federal government should play a role to solve this problem. The problem will not be mitigated unless we honestly debate Islam with focus on Martyrdom, shahadat , after life etc. It seems many young impressionable minds are being easily lured by "someone" to commit violence and terrorism under the guise of such ideas. The basic assumption underlying racial profiling in the counterterrorism context, predominantly at airports and border crossings, is that terrorism is most likely to be committed by members of a particular racial, ethnic or religious group.

@Khalid - Who supplies the money and the intelligence information with planning. India, Israel with the help of the Western governments buy local people to do these acts. It is in their interest to keep Pakistan in the news and the government busy spending time and money to counter it. Let the people take hold of these Madrasas; millions of the jobs will be created. Few weeks ago there were 60 openings of "Chaprasis" in Indian province of UP, you know how many people applied, 68,000 and most of them have college degrees; this does not mean you become a terrorist, or a thief , or a murderer.

Many would argue that the primary cause here is their doctrinal orientation. Given that the solution seems simple: root out extremist ideology and the problem vanishes. Unfortunately things are not so simple. Yes, extremist ideology must be rooted out. But remember that terrorism has been practiced by people belonging to all sorts of ideologies (suicide bombing was used by the Marxist leaning Tamil Tigers, for example). How do we know that another ideology will not take its place?Using more and more force may be ineffective as well. Has a single country managed to stop all terrorism by using more force? Not even powers immensely more powerful than Pakistan have managed to pull this off. The only thing that remains untried is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the places where this menace grows and provide better education (both these must go together). Unfortunately our elites are allergic to this option and would prefer a quick option based purely on more and more force.

Really sad to see such waste of young lives. But that be as it may. Unless they were stolen from their families, I would take whole families in for questioning and charge every single member for accessory to murder and act of terror against the state. I mean killing people while they were praying in a mosque. These guys have real evil minds or rather they have been brain washed and hence have no minds whatsoever. Either way here is a chance to get to know how these young ones were turned into hardened killers and by whom that they even killed people praying in the mosque to the same God as theirs.

Firstly why these people became such, is a question? we should investigate further and try to address the route cause why this happened and how it can be not repeated in future, even if a foreign country is involved please discuss with that country and don't make such things public. Sad to see security establishments in the sub continent are in so much hurry to say something in press.

Great job to bring out these heinous persons in open. Only pray, that no one (misguided) will lay down rose petals on their grave and qualify them as martyrs. PS: Pak intelligence should be congratulate. However, sadly it also points out that they certainly have a "good" knowledge of the where about of such culprits. Please flush them out soon with out any discrimination. There is NO good Taliban period. Fight with India to get Kashmir instead keeping such snakes in the hope to bite them only.

Pakistan should see the circumstances these people become terrorists. Their homes be destroyed and their women and children be relocated to other areas of Pakistan. Their education and training be evaluated, their contracts with Afghanistan and India be evaluated. Pakistan have to put industries in Bara and other agencies to improve the well being of people and alleviate poverty which is the root cause. Normal curriculum education be reinforced, all the madrassas be closed. Military should have cantonement in every region with schools, water system, hospitals and industries emerging out to surrounding region to help people locally.

Who is training these young people? who is providing logistic support? Pakistan have to run after those who are training these people, small nuclear arm use options should be on table. Pakistan should seal borders with Afghanistan with 10 mile no man zone with orders to kill. Military post with three men every mile across Afghan border on no man zone, that is close to 2000 military posts, each with three men garrison, back by New helicopters from USA and Russia. Pakistan should start working on drone helicopters, which can stay up in one location instead of pass by evaluation.

I see some people here commenting to suggest that the parents or families of these men should made responsible and arrested. These were young independent men and not children whose parents can control them at home. I am sure the family must be unaware of whet they were doing away from home as long as they said that they were doing a job far away from home. T arrest family members and make them responsible for the act of independent mature young men is an injustice. Arresting and torturing family members is like collective punishment and will surely backfire. Interrogation is OK but punishing family members destroying their homes is not fair. Those who recommend this tactic are really not helping to resolve this issue but are making it worse.
