PESHAWAR, Dec 24: On the intervention of Regional Peace and Friendship Committee, the Afghan government has released 33 Pakistani volunteers arrested in Afghanistan.
In a press release issued here on Monday, a member of the committee, Haji Hayatullah, told Dawn that the 33 Pakistani prisoners detained at the Bagram prison were released on Sunday and entered Pakistan via Nava Pass and Tirrah.
The list provided by the organization included prisoners belonging to Swat, Peer Kalay and Bajaur Agency. The organization claimed that they had also been making efforts for the release of other Pakistani prisoners who had gone to Afghanistan.
