LAHORE: The Punjab government has constituted provincial to district level committees to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the forthcoming local body elections.
The provincial election coordination committee is headed by the additional chief secretary and comprises secretaries of the local government, home, higher and school education, finance and implementation and coordination departments, IGP and Joint Punjab Election Commissioner Ashfaq Sarwar.
The security and public order maintenance committee is headed by secretary home and comprises IGP, Additional IGPs of special branch and counter-terrorism department, representatives from federal security and intelligence agencies, Mr Ashfaq Ahmed Sarwar, representatives of army and rangers, and home department’s additional secretary internal security.
The divisional election coordination committees are headed by divisional commissioners and comprise regional election commissioners, regional police officers, DCOs, SSPs of special branch, CCPOs, CPOs and DPOs, representatives from federal security and intelligence agencies and additional commissioners general.
The district coordination committees are headed by DCOs, and comprise district election commissioners, CCPOs, CPOs or DPOs, SPs of special branch, representatives from federal security and intelligence agencies, all EDOs, and district officers coordination. — Staff Reporter
