LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority teams on Saturday sealed several more eateries and restaurants for flouting food safety, handling and hygiene standards and rules.

According to a spokesperson, a special PFA team in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town, headed by Director (Operations) Ayesha Mumtaz, sealed Jamil Hotel, Asif Chanay & Beef Haleem, Zahid Khan Tea Stall, Ashraf Nihari House and Allah Badshah Pan Shop in Abdali Chowk (Islampura). The team also imposed a fine on Pizza Pizzas in Sanda.

Another PFA team in Gulberg Town sealed Ghulam Nabi Milk Shop, Hafiz Dhai Bhalay and Juice Corner, Bhai Pan Shop and Bismillah Milk Shop in Firdaus Market. It imposed a fine on Zewang Restaurant and Café Ikeno on MM Alam Road.

The Iqbal Town team sealed H-3 (Aman Centre, Johar Town), Karachi Redrock Paratha near Expo Centre and Shera Rabani Milk Shop and Haleem in Hanjarwal area. It also imposed fine on Ideal Fresh Juice.

In Shalimar Town, the team sealed Al-Noor Milk Shop on GT Road and got its owner arrested for intervening in state affairs. The team also imposed a fine on Al-Maida Biriani and Butt Milk Shop.

The Aziz Bhati Town team sealed Billa Pakwan Centre, Mueed Juice Corner, Hafiz Imran Juice Corner and Ibrahim Milk Shop on Bahar Shah Road, Taj Bagh Scheme and Joray Pull areas.

The PFA teams in Samanabad, Ravi and Nishtar towns sealed Mr Code Fast Food, Lajpal Qulfi, Ustad Jee and Data Hajveri pan shops and Friends Nimko in areas of Karim Market, Usman Chowk, Badami Bagh and Kahna Nau. Fine was also imposed on Fri Chicks in Karim Market. According to officials, the premises sealed would be de-sealed after seven days subject to gravity of offence.

Meanwhile, a CDGL’s special team seized 2,000 packets of Gutka after it raided various shops of pan market in Anarkali area. The Gutka was unlawfully smuggled from India, according to a spokesman.

DENGUE: The CDGL has directed all nine town municipal administrations of the city district to inspect all under-construction plazas and markets to detect dengue larvae.

The orders were issued by the Lahore DCO/CDGL administrators during the inspection of a seven-storey plaza in Gulberg on Saturday.

On the other hand, various price control magistrates got arrested 67 shopkeepers and imposed Rs97,300 fine on several others for overcharging.
