RAWALPINDI: Prayers for the success of freedom fighters against the tyrant Indian colonialists in held Kashmir were offered all over Pakistan in Friday congregations today [Aug 27]. All Khatibs in their Khutbas described freedom fighters’ struggle against the Occupation Forces in held Kashmir as Jehad and exhorted the people to offer all that they can for the help of Mujahids in true Islamic spirit.

They said it was war against Kufr for the liberation of four million Muslims and every Muslim must contribute to the Mujahid Fund so that those carrying this Jehad get every possible assistance. Reports reaching the capital say that public meetings were also held in cities and rural areas where people took a solemn pledge to extend their help to the Mujahids in Kashmir. The meetings decided to raise volunteer corps who would join the Mujahids in held Kashmir in their fight against the forces of Imperialist India.

Resolutions urging the Pakistan Government to allow volunteers to cross the cease-fire line were also passed. Since India has already violated the sanctity of the cease-fire line there is no reason why Pakistan should uphold it. Resolutions assuring unflinching support to President Ayub’s policy on Kashmir were also adopted at these meetings. The Revolutionary Council in Occupied Kashmir, it may be mentioned, broadcast an appeal on Tuesday night to Muslims all over the world to pray for the freedom fighters’ success at Friday congregations. — Special Representative [Agencies add] the Foreign Minister, Mr Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, joined the big Juma congregation at the Markazi Jamia Masjid today where over 30,000 people prayed to the Almighty for the success of freedom fighters’ struggle in occupied Kashmir. After the prayers at the Jamia Masjid, which were led by Maulana Faizul Hasan Faizi, a prominent Kashmiri leader, Mr Ghulam Din Wani, addressed the congregation.
