SARGODHA: Employees of the revenue department have launched a protest against PML-N MPA Tahir Sindhu who allegedly manhandled Kot Momin Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Asif Shah a couple of days ago.

The MPA rebuked AC Asif Shah and allegedly slapped him with a claim that there were complaints of irregularities against the officer who resisted when he demanded details of funds being utilised by him. The associates of the MPA also protested against the bureaucrat.

Revenue officers all over the district supported the AC and also threatened to go on strike against the MPA.

Asif Shah, while refusing to succumb to any pressure, said the MPA illegally interfered in official work and insulted him.

In a dispute of similar nature earlier, some lawyers and PML-N workers thronged the residence of the Kot Momin tehsildar and threw his luggage out of the house.

PASSPORT AGENTS: Despite a crackdown on agent mafia in the passport office by the district coordination officer, it is very much there.

An applicant told this correspondent that he had applied for passport a month ago but the staff raised objections which forced him to approach an agent who managed delivery of the passport within four days.

The agents have set up shops around the passport office and their entry was banned on the premises for a few days but they resumed their activity as officials intentionally create difficulties for applicants.
