MULTAN: The Bahauddin Zakariya University on Friday declared the results of BA and BSc annual examinations 2015, with girls clinching all top positions.
As many as 50,962 candidates appeared for the examination, out of whom 16,672 were declared successful showing a pass percentage of 32.71.
BZU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khwaja Alqama was the cheif guest at the result declaring ceremony.
The girls not only clinched top positions, but also outclassed boys in overall pass ratio. In the BA category, they showed a pass percentage of 46.20 and 27.42 as regular and private candidates, respectively, as against boys’ 26.46 and 14.33 per cent.
In BSc, the girls showed a pass percentage of 67.90 and 43.63 as regular and private candidates, respectively, as against boys’ 37.64 and 27.56 per cent.
The group-wise detail of top position holders is:
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE: Maryam Anwar (43994) of the Punjab College, Multan, stood first with 702 marks. Sonia Fayyaz (43988) of the same college clinched second position by bagging 699 marks while Tania Riaz (43579) of the City College of Science and Commerce, Multan, clinched the third position with 692 marks.
Bisma Jahangir (43991) and Hina Mubashir of the Punjab College, Multan, shared the fourth position by bagging 690 marks each. A private candidate, Iqra Saleem, (35971) of Vehari clinched the fifth position with 689 marks.
BACHELOR OF ARTS: Ujala Shabbir (Roll No 4928) of the Government College for Women, Taunsa Sharif, clinched the first position by getting 618 marks.
Iqra Mushtaq (1828) of the Government College for Women, Jalalpur Pirwala, secured the second position with 608 marks, while private candidates Mariam Javed Asghar (10051) of Jahanian tehsil of Khanewal and Farha Majeed (18353) of Katcha Khoh, Khanewal, clinched the third and fourth positions with 606 and 603 marks, respectively.
