PESHAWAR, Oct 14: The members of a united front of the students, Muttahida Tulaba Mahaz (MTM), have demanded of the government to provide free accommodation facility to the university students as most of them are facing difficulty in finding one.

They are also agitated over the prevalent high amount the hostel residents of the university have to pay, and have demanded at a rally the on Monday to bring the charges down.

MTM Vice-President Sajid Hussain said the government should make the university education affordable for the students belonging to the middle class families.

He said education had become expensive and university fees, specially hostel charges, were too high. The provincial government was claiming that it was providing free education but the university students who belonged to hard pressed families were ignored by the government.

RESULT: The students of the Islamia College Peshawar have topped the list of the successful students in the entry test for medical colleges of the NWFP.

They secured first two positions in the results declared on Monday. There were 5,617 candidates who appeared in the entry test held on Sunday. Only 570 candidates qualified for the admission to the medical colleges.
