LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday approved 12 development schemes worth an estimated Rs59 billion.

The schemes were approved in the fourth meeting of the PDWP of the current fiscal year, presided over by Planning and Development Board Punjab Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi.

According to the Planning and Development Department spokesman, the approved development schemes included Punjab Police Integrated Command Control and Communication (PP-IC3) Programme worth Rs13,387.679 million; preservation and restoration of Shahdara Complex of Monuments (Revised) worth Rs468 million; Lahore Ring Road Project – Southern Loop (Package-1) (Land Acquisition And Relocation Of Utilities) worth Rs5 billion; Lahore Ring Road Project – Southern Loop (Package-2) (Land Acquisition And Relocation Of Utilities) (Revised) worth Rs9.9 billion; Lahore Ring Road Project – Southern Loop (Package-3) (Land Acquisition And Relocation Of Utilities) worth Rs5.8 billion, Lahore Ring Road (Package-9) construction of interchange at Harbanspura canal crossing (revised) worth Rs2.3 billion; improvement/rehabilitation of Multan Road from Thokar Niaz Baig to Chauburji (Proposed Sewerage Drainage And Water Supply System) Package-III (Revised) worth Rs2 billion.

Other schemes included rehabilitation/widening of 12-foot rural roads under Khadim-i-Punjab Roads Programme (South Zone) worth Rs8 billion; Khadim-i-Punjab Roads Programme [Rehabilitation and Widening of (Rural) Roads in Punjab Highways Department, North Zone) (Umbrella PC-I) (Revised) worth Rs9.8 billion; widening/improvement of 43km road from Ouderwal to Nila Road, Chakwal district worth Rs782.995 million; topographic survey and geotechnical studies for land sliding zonisation of Murree hills mainly located between old Rawalpindi-Murree road and Islamabad-Murree Expressway in Murree (amended) worth Rs50 million and establishment of Directorate General of Monitoring and Evaluation worth Rs827.031 million.
