DIBPL extends Rs6bn to Punjab Food Deptt

KARACHI: Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Ltd (DIBPL) has extended Rs6 billion Musharakah financing to the Punjab Food Department for its seasonal procurement of wheat, said a press release on Wednesday.

Musharakah (Shirkat ul Aqd) is a mode of finance under which the bank participates in the business of financee on the basis of profit and loss sharing.

Samsung unveils 1.0μm-pixel mobile image

KARACHI: Samsung Electronics announced the industry’s first 1.0μm-pixel-based 16 megapixel (Mp) CMOS image sensor for use in advanced mobile devices, a press release said on Wednesday.

The new image sensor, the S5K3P3, leverages the company’s proprietary ISOCELL technology to enable the high performance 1.0μm pixels.

PACRA reaffirms ratings of JSCL

KARACHI: The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) has maintained the long- and short-term entity ratings of Jahangir Siddiqui & Co Ltd (JSCL) at ‘AA’ (Double A) and ‘A1+’, respectively. Ratings of TFC VII of Rs1,000 million and TFC VIII of Rs750m have been maintained at ‘AA+’, says a press release.
